Dish Society

Dish society

eat local. be social

-------------------------------------------

Dish Society is a great dinner destination if you are looking for a casual place with reasonable prices in Uptown Houston.

It is located underneath an apartment complex, so if you have not been here before, you have to pay attention to its location because it is difficult to find it on the first pass.

For dinner, they offer a sit down service, but during the day (breakfast, lunch & brunch), they offer counter service. You order, you pay, you sit and they bring the food to your table.

Probably around 2 months ago we went to this cute restaurant for brunch, and the experience was not the best one. However, we decided to give them a second try, but this time for dinner. Glad we did!!! This time, we had such a great experience, wonderful service and an enjoyable atmosphere.

When we walked in, we  appreciated the  customer service from the hostess, the manager and the servers. They understand very well the meaning of team work! Such a  terrific service and team. The atmosphere inside/outside the restaurant was relaxing, agreeable, pleasant but fun and trendy at the same time.

We definitely recommend you to visit Dish Society for dinner instead of brunch.

Quinoa Stuffed Avocado

whole avocado topped with citrus quinoa relish [house favorite]

-------------------------------------------

This was the best dish we had at this place!  it was very fresh, tasty and at the same time VERY HEALTHY! it is a great option if you are watching your calories.

You can choose your protein from chicken, salmon, stak, brisket or shrimp. We got the salmon and it was really tasty and perfectly cooked. No wonder why it is a House Favorite!

We would definetively come back for this one.

Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad

grilled shrimp, mixed greens, avocado, tomato, & bell peppers with cilantro lime vinaigrette

-------------------------------------------

This was a very refreshing salad. The dressing was really good. It had a citrus flavor which went really well with the shrimps.

In our opinions, we believe this salad was missing other ingredients to make it more tasty. We were not crazy about this dish.

However, at lunch time, you have the option to "create your own salad" which we think is a great option!

Four Cheese Truffle Mac

-------------------------------------------

We are a huge fan of truffles but sadly we have to say that we were kind of disspointed with this side.

You could not really feel the flavour of truffle nor the flavor of any cheese, in general the flavors were very mild.

Nutella Crepe

with berries

-------------------------------------------

What is not to love about a Nutella Crepe? as always it tasted AMAZINGLY GOOD! The presentation was very creative and unique as you can see from the pic (it looked like a cinnamon roll).

The crepe was filled with lots of Nutella (hard to find) and the berries were very fresh.

Even though this is a very common dessert, they have found the way to make it impressively good.
